Putin ally responds to NATO drone swarms: “Dumb animals”
Dmitry Medvedev called Europeans worried about the mysterious drone swarms—suspected by NATO allies to be linked to Russia—that have appeared around airports, military facilities, and other critical infrastructure in recent weeks “dumb animals” who need to feel the “danger of war”.
Medvedev, who is deputy chairman to the Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Kremlin’s Security Council, and is himself a former president and prime minister of the country, laid out five potential explanations for the drones in a post on Telegram, and played down suggestions that Moscow is involved.
Those five included provocations by Ukrainians, pro-Russian cells within the European Union (EU), intentional testing of air defense systems, local hooligans, and Russia.
“In fact, the causes of this panic about ‘Russian drones’ may be any one of the reasons listed above or a combination of them. That’s not the main point,” Medvedev wrote, originally in Russian.
“The main thing is that narrow-minded Europeans should feel on their own skin what the danger of war is. That they should be afraid and tremble like dumb animals in a herd being driven to the slaughter. That they should soils themselves with fear, sensing their near and agonizing end.
“Maybe then they will understand what war is. And tear the heads off their freaks like Merz and Macron, who make money and score political points on blood…”
