BPI Names Ginbee Go as Next President and CEO, Would Be Its First Woman Leader
Bank of the Philippine Islands' board approved a succession plan naming Ginbee Go as president and chief executive from 26 April 2027, succeeding TG Limcaoco, subject to approvals.
Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) said on 22 October 2026 that its board has approved a succession plan naming Maria Cristina “Ginbee” Go as president and chief executive, succeeding Jose Teodoro “TG” Limcaoco. If it proceeds, Go will be the first woman to lead BPI in its 175-year history.
The Daily Tribune and Insider PH both reported the appointment. Marketech APAC says the board’s approval was described in a Philippine Stock Exchange disclosure form. The change remains subject to regulatory approval.
Board Approval and the Chair’s Message

The Tribune describes the change as succession planning and preparation for the bank’s next growth phase. Insider PH says it will ensure continuity and position the bank for growth.
Zobel de Ayala also praised Limcaoco, saying he has brought BPI to “tremendous new heights” as chief executive over the past five years, according to Insider PH. The Tribune says he credited Limcaoco with significant transformation across digital, financial inclusivity and sustainability under his leadership. Limcaoco has led BPI since April 2021, according to Marketech APAC.
