KXAN (AUSTIN) — Labor Day weekend is quickly approaching, and it’s important to remember traveling tips to keep you prepared on the roadways.
Meteorologist Tommy House sat down with AAA Texas Spokesperson Daniel Armbruster to learn more.
Meteorologist Tommy House: Is Labor Day typically a busy weekend for travel?
Daniel Armbruster: It’s a busy weekend, although not as busy as Memorial Day weekend, when summer is kicking off or the Fourth of July. You will see additional traffic on the roadways.
House: Let’s talk about specific days to travel. Earlier is always better, right?
Armbruster: Yes, earlier in the day is always better. Saturday and Sunday will be some of the busiest days to travel. As the day goes on, you’ll see more people on the road.
House: AAA Texas has some important links, such as route planning and travel tips, correct?
Armbruster: You can go to AAA Texas and click on the trip tool. We offer scenic trips not only in Texas, but across the country. You can also see an estimate of fuel for your trip, which, by the way, is lower in cost than last year. Costs are down overall, such as rental cars and hotels. So this is big news for those planning on traveling this Labor Day.
