Coty announced a long-term extension of its Marc Jacobs license on 4 November 2026, with co-owners WHP Global and G-III. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Coty Inc. announced on 4 November 2026 that it has extended its license for the Marc Jacobs brand with WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group, the two companies that own the label. The announcement was distributed through Business Wire. Coty says the extension positions it to accelerate the global growth of Marc Jacobs Beauty across categories and markets.
The Business Wire headline gives the license term as 40 years, and Cosmetics Business and The Impression report the same figure. The release text, as reprinted by Finviz, describes the extension as long-term and says it secures the brand for decades to come. Financial terms were not disclosed in either version.
What the Extension Covers
Coty and Marc Jacobs have worked together since 2003, according to the release and Cosmetics Business. Coty expanded the license to include beauty in 2023. Retail Insight Network reported at the time that the license was extended to more than 15 years and that the deal marked the brand’s return to the beauty segment. Makeup was sold under the Marc Jacobs name from 2013, first with Kendo Brands, until late 2021.
The 2026 announcement names WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group as the brand’s co-owners. The Impression reports that the two each hold a 50% stake, and that G-III also acquired the brand’s operating business. It reports that LVMH sold Marc Jacobs to the two companies for approximately $925 million, and that the sale was completed on September 1. The release cites more than $9.5 billion in annual retail sales across WHP Global’s brands. It names Daisy Marc Jacobs, Daisy Wild and Perfect Marc Jacobs among Coty’s fragrance lines.

Marc Jacobs Beauty After the Relaunch
Coty revived the discontinued Marc Jacobs makeup line this year. Cosmetics Business reports that the new collection launched on 28 May 2026. The Impression reports that it is sold through Sephora in markets including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, as well as online. The release says the line is in hundreds of Sephora stores.
Coty says the relaunch has had an outstanding start and is already exceeding targets. The release gives no sales figures for the makeup line. It did cite rankings for the brand’s products. According to Cosmetics Business, Marc Jacobs fragrances rank among the top 10 to 15 prestige female fragrances in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. The same report says the eyeliners and eyeshadows rank in the top five at Sephora in the United States, and that the brand ranks among the top 20 makeup brands at Sephora in the United Kingdom and Australia/New Zealand.
Retail Insight Network says makeup under the Marc Jacobs name was first sold in 2013 under Kendo Brands and ended in late 2021. The Impression says it was discontinued in 2021. The release also cites a 2026 launch of Marc Jacobs Daisy Hair & Body Mists.
What Coty and Its Partners Have Said
Markus Strobel, Coty’s executive chairman and interim chief executive officer, described Marc Jacobs as one of the great creative names in fashion. He said Coty is proud of what the two companies have built together. Cosmetics Business quotes him describing the work with the brand as spanning more than two decades.
Yehuda Shmidman, founder, chairman and chief executive of WHP Global, said beauty is an important part of the brand’s connection with consumers. He credited Coty with building the brand’s fragrance business and relaunching Marc Jacobs Beauty. Morris Goldfarb, chairman and chief executive of G-III Apparel Group, called Coty an exceptional partner for the brand, citing its expertise and global scale.
In the 2023 expansion, Sue Nabi, Coty’s chief executive at the time, said the partnership was in its 20th year. She also said Marc Jacobs Fragrances had grown into one of the top ten female fragrances worldwide. Eric Marechalle, chief executive of Marc Jacobs International, said Coty had proven to be the team to bring Marc Jacobs Beauty to new heights. The 2026 release names Markus Strobel as interim chief executive.
Coty says the relaunched makeup line is already exceeding targets, but the release gives no sales figures.
Undisclosed Terms and Stated Growth Plans
Financial terms of the extension were not disclosed in the announcement. The release does not name specific new markets or launch dates beyond the relaunch already under way.
The release says the agreement positions Coty to accelerate the global growth of Marc Jacobs Beauty across categories and markets. It also says the agreement offers significant opportunities to expand Marc Jacobs Beauty into new markets and broaden its presence in color cosmetics. The release gives no timetable for those plans.
